We wanted the stability of kiln-dried logs. Kiln-drying is a complex science. After the logs in each charge average a moisture content of 19% or less, they are ready for milling to the final log profile. More than 10,000 pounds of water is removed from the typical home, significantly reducing the weight of the logs. Properly dried logs provide higher insulation values, which reduces your energy costs and increases the comfort of the home. Graded and Certified Logs ensure each log meets the Building System Council’s standards for grading.

Kuhns Bros. Log Homes “No Shop” package contains all the materials necessary to build our log home with the exception of the following eight items: Foundation/masonry, HVAC, Electric, Plumbing, Cabinetry, Flooring (hardwood, carpet, tile), and Labor. This makes the budgeting for your log home much easier.
